to test if clutch is slipping... at 35-40 mph put it in 5th gear.... got WOT watch rpms... if they rise perportionate to your mph, then your golden... if they rise faster then your slipping...and at the end you will smell clutch

Are you letting air out of the tires? I like mine to be at about 18-20. When I come out of the hole, I have it revved to about 2200-2300 and then feather it out. As soon as you feel the tires grab, nail it. But as jaberwaki has already stated, it can be addressed with time and practice. And take it from me who lives in FL where there is humidity like no place else, the weather will make a lil bit of a difference. If and when you get it dynoed, you will see how it does each and every run, whether its gets stronger the second and third run or weaker on the next couple runs. Check it out and let us know!! Good luck with it.

Last week at the track(1/8 mile) there was a stock Z28 with the sport package running 9.5's all day long at about 78 mph. There was a girl driving a T/A running 8.9's and 9.00's at 81-82. Then there was another LS1 running 8.00's but he wasn't anywhere near stock.

i might try the lower air pressure but i have no problem with wheelspin now unless i let it go at 3500 or higher anyway. 2200 bogs. seems i need to be around 3000 to get going at all.
i'm really more concerned with the mph than the et anyway. almost 82 mph seems kinda slow for my mods doesn't it? unless the 2.2 60 foot makes that difference.

It takes alot of practice before you get really good. Your not that far off so I wouldnt worry. You let it go at 3500 and you dont spin at all when you nail it? Ive tried that before, I feathered it out at 3000 one time, nailed it and got sideways. So I like it around 2-2500. 2500 I think is really ideal. But to each his own, Ive read about people just letting it idle at the line and taking off like that. Keep practicing. When you shift into second, does it want to get sideways? When I go into 2nd, it spins alot. Just keep tryin, you will get it. You gotta find that happy medium and it takes alot of trial and error finding it.
