wow I don't feel so bad hehe. I've got a 2000 z28 and a 2000 silverado full coverage on both. I've had two acident's one my fault one was weather related. the weather related one destoried a 15k truck I had. plus I had five point's on my record and 22 single only payining 2100 a year. I'm 23 now and a few less point's and it dropped a bit now about 1700 a year. plus the one accident isn't on my record anymore.I have state. farm btw a buddy of mine with a better recored then mine wanted to buy a truck similiar to my and had state farm they wanted to charge him almost 3300(year) for the truck only. (2000 4x4 ext.) so go figure even the same agent as me.

Heh, thanks for all the replies!

well after using the search option under keywork "insurance" and reading up on what people are paying, im now officially pissed off . How is it that some one thats 22 with a flawless record, no claims, and good credit gets charged double what some 17 year old boy who already has a speeding ticket is paying?!?

I decided to call up my pops and see if he would be willing to let me put the car under his name. He is calling Allstate today. Ill be sure to let everyone know the outcome. If the outcome isnt less than 300 a month, i will call Geiko. And if that fails, looks like ill be getting a maxima

Anyone in NY my age with an LS1?? ide love to hear what people under 25 not married in NY are doing.

EDIT: seems like Geico.com only want 1,777.30 per/6 with no down payment.. works out to 296 per month. Which is do-able. not too happy about it, but its a ton better than 464 per month.

Default Good news

Finally heard back from my father. He called up Allstate, and put the car under his name etc.. Turned out to be 3000 for the whole year, with nothing down. This was FULL coverage. From theift to 2 windshields per year. 100K on the cars, 500K on body ins. etc... This quote is an absolute maximum quote . He said if the car has some saftey option the price will only go down. They will know for sure on a price when she has the VIN.

Now, to find the car....

Cool

Gieco is the cheapest that Ive found in New York. I pay like $1,800 a year for full coverage but Im 37yrs old. If you up the deductable to $1000 Its cheaper & tell them you have a garage even if you don't ! Its cause of your age that there raping you like that. ******* thieves ! Also if you live at home, you effect your Dads Insurance rate just by having a license. They charge you for every driver listed for the household

WOW! thats a lot of money. Im 19 and im still on my parents insurance. I drive a 98 Z28 M6 and the payments im making on it are 400 a month plus 350 a month for insurance. I quoted myself to see what i would have to pay if i wasnt under my parents insurance and it turned out to be 1000 a month! which means i would be better off carrying 10k in cash with me at all times. Its the only way to get around the insurance laws here in california. I also have a ticket and another ticket for going 103.... the cops was cool about it though Im also one ticket away from getting my lisence taken away, which means i need nitrus if im gonna outrun them when they try to pull me over, cuz im damn sure not gonna bend over for em!

wow everyone thinks thats a lot, and it is. But last year, as a SECONDARY driver to my `1990 maxima SE cost me 220 a month. So 280 a month for an 8 cyl isnt that bad.

I looked at Geico and they wanted 1777 per 6/ with 500 down. So allstate turned out to be a little cheaper. I think its the area im in that rates are so steep. but either way, 280 per month is do able, where 465 is not. so im happy!

Now i need to find a stock (or close to it) LS1 M6 SS.....

Looking into the same thing man, 21, NYC looked into insuring a 02 Z28...progressive wants 10k a year...yup, you heard me right. No tickets/accidents listed either.

Allstate wouldn't quote me online.

Geico wanted about 5 a year.

...ugh.

City, Ive been there and done that. I called about 5 diff insurance comp. If your parents would be willing to put the car under thier name and not yours, those quote will drop in 1/2. If you cant get one of your parents to put the car under thier name, try Geico. Geico was 1/2 what everyone else wanted. If my dad wasnt willing to put the car under his name, i owuld have used geico. Give them a shot.

Good luck dood. And dont let these thiefs stop you from getting the car you desire!

I see some pretty high insurance costs. I have StateFarm and I pay $130 a month for my '02 WS6 and my wife's '99 escort 100/300/100 with a $250 deductable. I have paid a premium to keep our driving records clean. My last ticket was 110 in a 55, my Lawyer managed to get it dropped for $400 and court supervision for all other tickets. If you think it's safe to haul *** when noone else but you is on the highway.....Johnny Law is on the prowl and willeventually find you.

I live in NJ which I think many would consider the Insurance Rape Capital of North America. I called Geico, Im a 21 year old with 1 weather related accident with less than 1000 in damage, and I was quoted at 1100 per 6 months. I also have a good student discount and a pretty good credit score. However i think the key determinant was that i picked the limited tort option and just about minimized my coverage. 1100 per 6 for a 2K WS6 is not bad considering i was paying 1300 every 6 with a 95 RS camaro with only liability.

in conclusion: allstate blows.
furthermore: Tiny house was one of the funniest commercials ever... plus both Geico representatives i spoke with sounded hot. Enjoy.

i've got a 2000 z-28 and 1999 huggrss. went into allstate office for a quote and they told me they wouldn't even insure me, and i'm 34!! with a spotless record. so i have a good friend in oklahoma and i insure my cars there for about 500.00 every 6 months.
f**k the insurance co.

I was very surprised when I got quoted for a 95 Z for $70/month from nationwide. Do get multi car discount and drivers ed/6 hour course....1 speeding ticket, 1 disobeying a sign ticket, and 1 accident that I was at no fault. Im 19.
