Default tuning?

when you get your car tuned what exactly do they do to the car to make it run better or faster or w/e they do..and how much does a good tune cost?

good tunes around here cost 450-500 dollars

ls1edit, hp tuners, autotap, my buddy used cats on my car-i paid 350 thats scanning, tuning, and a dyno-tune included, try posting over in the tuning section, they can probably help ya better over there.
