It's basically a small auxilary radiator for your trans fluid, the B&M 24K cooler is a favorite and comes with everything you need, install is fairly easy and most site sponsors and local speed shops sell them. You don't really need one unless you're running an aftermarket torque converter - but won't hurt. Trans fluid/filter change involves removing the pan/filter and refilling - messy but not difficult - a lift makes it alot easier. You'll get a lot more info/opinions/help by posting your question in the trans section.

I got 300-400 a tank with my trans am but I really like 6th gear. Mostly highway miles. I normally drove 250+ then filled up alttile over a 1/4. I'm driving my mom's extra truck now and that thing sucks gas. I mean not even half the power maybe a 4th on a good day and half the gas mileage.

Hey everyone... I drive an M6.. but my theory on how people think power braking an automatic is "bad for the brakes"... ummm... how is this possible? The reason why I say that is because, well, When youre normally braking while driving, the rotors are normally spinning when the pads are clamping on them to bring the car to a stop.... so how is it any different with power goin to the rear wheels and just spinning the tires a bit? Its the same thing? right? The only thing that is wearing is the pads and rotors... but barely and this is normal operation... Am i missing something???
