I had trouble with the girlfreind and getting the car.
I had an '89 firebird 2.8MPFI, I really liked that car, people at the car club edge me on to getting a V8, I saw the 2000 T/A on Ebay, put in a bid and was the highst bidder, at this point the girlfreind still dind't know, I knew she would kill me. Anyway, got the car shipped to me in England UK, (a very large potage stamp was needed for the postage costs) Asked her what did she think about the Trans-Am, showed her a photo of one, she said I would be mad if I brought one and she would not be happy, so I didn't tell her, about 3 days before it arrived in the docks, I said I have one on its way. She was not inpressed. After I got it pulled up outside her house (car at this point is illegal, as no number plates) She said it was ugley, didn't like it, she had already made up her mind, what ever I said it was wrong. Took her ack to my house, blipped the throttle in second gear, after the screams and shouting and slapping me, there was a little smile on her face. From the point she started to like it. Not she does not mind the car.
The other day I got some decals put on the car from http://www.3rdgendecals.com
I showed her a photo of the final car, she said if I put them on its not being parked outside the house and I would have to live in the car. Well I showed one of her freinds first after I completed it, they were well impressed and talked her into liking them, now she is okay with it.
So what I'm trying to say, is do what you like, they will probably warm to the idea.
Good luck, also if you are happy, she will see your happy and be happy with you. (I hope).

Dont do things that will make waves in a relationship, its always gonna turn out bad. So just do what she says, and dont get the car. Then maybe go down to the Scion dealership and get one of those TCs. They are sporty and they look pretty nice IMHO. Later...
