Smile Mod Books---Opinions??

Has anyone read any good books on mods or car-racing they can share with me? I'm definitely a fast-car enthusiast, but lacking in experience. I'm always reading the forum posts, so that has helped some. But, I'd really like to learn more about car performance, so please advise!!

Has anyone read the book "Car Hacks and Mods for Dummies"--Is it mainframe b.s. or does it hold water?

Mainly because I'm car shopping right now for a used beauty but I'm into doing my research first.

Many thanks

are you speaking about ls1's in particular or all cars? id say if you want the best most up to date information keep your nose burried in forums and/or contact sponsors. Books can be good, but they can become outdated quickly, especially in such a fast paced world such as modifications.

If youre talking about LS1 engines then you should check out Wil Handzel's book called "How to Build High-Performance Chevy LS1/LS6 V-8's"

I would have told you to look at "jaberwaki's" write up "so you wanna be fast" (I guess in the post he just made he forgot to mention that he made a huge contribution to this site with that write up!)...and any further questions to check with the other members or sponsers.
