do a search

slp is overpriced and overated
any aftermarket air sensor is not worth it

I am very happy with my slp cai, definitely a good mod for me.
Don't do the MAF.
I've read pleanty of threads where guys have complained about getting ripped off when they sent their TB out for porting. It can be a hassle, but again it's a good mod. Just do your research before sending it out.

If it says SLP on it, walk away and search for much better and less expensive products.

First mod: get it dyno tuned, then stick a lid on it, get some LT headers and an exhaust like duals or gmmg catback, have the TB p/p'd, subframe connectors and lower control arms. Have it redynotuned.

Don't: get a smooth bellows, pay for a TB bypass kit, buy a tornado, get a mail in dynotune or handheld tuner, pay for an aftermarket MAF, or believe what some vendors (like SLP) tell you as they're selling stuff and your buying it. Some mods are not worth the money and time.

Do: Make friends with a really good vendor in your area and utilize them as your primary source of parts and performance, it becomes cheaper with discounts because of customer loyalty and friendships. I've saved $$$ through dedicating my hobby/business with one primary vendor who can get all the same stuff that anyone else can.

Search here and ask questions before buying anything.

Good luck.

whats your plans for the car???
I dunno about doing a Dyno tune now... if you know what your major plan on what your doing with your car like H/C, stroker, nitrous,FI. if its all within this year, i dont know if id waste 400+$$ on a dynotune if your just going to have to get another one after you really mod it. just my .02

Subframe connectors are a must too.

Yes, Subframe Connectors.....dont even look for another mod until you get a pair of those. Then get any lid (brand doesnt matter they all put out the same RWHP) then get a decent catback or go for true duals so you can magnify that good V8 tone. Goodluck bro and welcome to the money pit.

PS I just installed my FTRA and I highly recommend it...

yeah your first question before doin anybuyin is where do you want to go with the car, if you start off goin for a all out motor deal then later on decide to get a turbo then almost a bunch of that stuff is goin to be usless, so first decide where you want to go with the car, then mod. red Jab's sticky https://ls1tech.com/forums/new-ls1-owners-newbie-tech/361959-so-you-wanna-fast.html
it'll get you in the right direction!

Whatever lid you can get cheap, they all give about the same HP boost (within 1-2) if you can get the SLP for cheap get it, or the MTI, or whatever, browse the parts for sale section here, or hit Ebay
SLP isn't "bad" per se, they just seem to be awful proud of their stuff, and price accordingly

If you get the Cold Air kit, you might as well do the free ram air mod for free....same gains. Now getting the SSRA or Fast Toys Ram Air kit that will give you more gains. Also spending money on a smooth bellows, you might as well just throw the money away (maybe one hp gain at the most). By the way SLP lids are one of the best fitting, by reviews of owners and testers.
