Default Bad to start in 2nd gear?

I guess I never really thought about it. sometimes I just get sick of having to shift so quickly from 1st to 2nd at a stop sign or light that I just start out in 2nd. Is this bad or damaging to anything? thanks

Yeah I do it all the time...I make sure that I am rolling a little bit though so that I dont kill the clutch.

If it's flat ground or a little downhill sometimes I'll start in second. I usually don't do that though since my cam doesn't like real low rpms.

Agreed on that cam part. But if you have 4.10's it shouldnt be to much different than first gear was with stock gears.

I've never driven a cammed ls1 with stock gears. Previos gears were 3.73's and I never started in 2nd with them.
