Default What is a "good tune"?; mod questions; who makes custom cams?

I've read about guys getting their cars tuned....now, I doubt you fellas are refering to an oil and spark plug change....is there a way to get more power from a stock LS1 without adding anything?

Also, I'm looking around at short blocks, intakes and heads, etc. When you add MAFS, throttle body, heads.....do you have to do something with the 'puter?

Also, when putting together a custom motor where would you go to have the 'puter setup and all that?

And finally.....I emailed a couple manufacturer about stroker/superchargers.....and they said to get a custom ground cam. Does any company that makes cams(Lunati, Comp, Crane) make custom cams?

Thanks for any help!!!

In a nutshell to me a "good "tune is one that both makes optimum HP & TQ and behaves as well as to drivability as is humanly possible as the stock motor does. Of corse depending on the combo some sacrifices MUST be made.

If I add throttle body, MAFS, SLP induction kit, headers/exaust....do you guys recommend a tune? If so...what kind of place does such a thing? Any place around Columbus, OH that you fellas are familiar with?
