Default Headers or torque converter

As title suggests, can't decide between headers & tune or t/c of about 3000 stall. I already have lid, k&n, catback, underdrive pulley's, hpp3. Just looking for ideas for my set-up. I use it as a daily driver, but it needs a little more umpf. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanx Clarence.

Get rid of that HPP3, and I went with a stall first. Headers I'm getting next. You will notice a big difference with the stall as compared to the headers. Get some good tires too.

If I get the headers I would also do some sort of tune with it,prolly a dyno tune at a local shop, thanx for the suggstion. I've got tt2s and fuzions on it now. How does that high a stall on your act in normal driving?

Gives you more control in normal driving. You can blip the throttle and watch the rpms shoot up. WOT though, oh man she pulls alot better than the stock converter. Brought a big smile to my face. Can't wait for the cam!!

Stall it. With good tires, you will pick up more performance, and you won' t have any of the deads spots, just after upshifts, like you do with the OEM 'verter. After 30 MPH, with 3.23s, if I punch it, it used to really lag. After my SS3800, it will break the tires loose downshifting into second gear, from a roll, and there is NO MORE DEADSPOT.

Get a larger lockup 'stall and a good tune to adjust the lockup points, and will will be very happy

Of course, it won' t sound as cool as some LTs though...

How much does a convertor effect gas mileage? I have tried to understand this but I just do not understand why they even would in certain situations. Maybe someone can clarify this a little bit for me ? .... dont mean to hijack the thead ............

In the city it will take more RPM to get/keep the car moving. Once you are past the lockup speed it'll drive like "normal"

I'm running a 3500 in my DD, and i love it! With 3.23's the 2.5 STR makes the car pretty tight. I love it, but i've been told with a bigger cam i'll have to go 4K or better...

Ok here is what I dont understand, isnt the stock tc like 2200 or something like that ? You say it changes the way it drives in the city until it gets up to that RPM right? Well I hardly ever hit 2200 RPM when driving gently around town. So does that mean that a 3400 stall would behave the same as my stock one in city driving ? Wouldnt it make more sense that it would behave differently on the highway where I am more likely to break the 2200 RPM boundary? Sorry if I am not making any sense I am just trying to understand these damned things

Once you get to a certain speed it will lockup and drive like the stock one. You can fix the settings when you get the transmission tuned.
