ok, ive hit 152 in my 3.23 a4. Thats at about 6000 rpm, so she isn't gonna do much more... The m6's could easy hit that 162.

Oh, and in Ford vs. Chevy the game, my supped up 6spd 02 SS hit 190!!! lol

The gear allows it yes, but there's no way the car would pull to 180 with 2.73s without some serious power mods.

Yeah I know. Power is needed to pull past that speed but that gearing has the space available for that kind of speed.

Not worth finding out. 100 is the most I've ever done.

^^^weak sos, not even a quarter mile

My 2 cents:

Wow, I'm surprised there hasn't been an affirmative answer here. The day my buddy's '99 M6 ss (w/ oem zr goodyears, duh) hit 1,000 miles (in '98 ) we DEFINITLY hit a speed limiter a few rpm's after the speedo maxed out at 155.

I haven't hit my own yet. Been there before, so why go back unless I'm showing a stang my new chrome badges on the rear end? I'll have an HP tune anyway so bye-bye limiter.

I also would say that that an un-limited ss or ram-air would do well over 168, as someone said above. They are just pulling too hard when the limiter comes on!

I just hit my speed limiter yesterday. Nice Sunday morning, not too much traffic on a nice 6-lane road. Just stood on the gas and hit it pretty quick.

I was at about 5500-5600 rpm which according to that f-body gear calculator of my car is about 166-169, speedo(wildly innacurate after 100) was right about where 160 would be. It kicked back pretty hard too, I was surprised.

Also my father when he first got her took her out with two undercover Z28's he worked with. One paced them the other ran along side him. The Z's were A4 and **** out at 155, the radar read the Formula at 172, and after correcting for the deflection it was calculated to be doing 169mph.

So it's safe to say an M6 F-body with Z-rated tires is capable of at least 160mph by all acounts, how much over that? Not more than 10mph more. So somewhere in the 160-170 range, which is more than enough on American built roads.

Yes it will, if it does not have the performance axle option (with 17 inch rims).
I believe it is closer to 115-118 though.

And a stock 6 speed F-body will not go much more than the fuel cutoff on level ground.
