he calls us all ignorant, yet expects a specific time the engine will probably blow, the car is going to be wrapped around a tree b/c if your such a jackass that you have to go around impressing people then that's probably the only reason you got the car in the first place and your not going to be responsible enough to handle it.

DAMN!!! I have had the same set of street tires on two diff LS1 cars, thousands and thousands of miles, track runs, burnouts, just playing around on the street, etc, and they are still ok. Sorry to jump on the bandwagon, but dude if there was a law against abusing your car then you'd be a lifer.

As far as the engine holding up....I have a buddy with a 00 Formula m6 and with 101k+ it's still kicking ***! Change the fluids regularly using only quality lubricants and don't beat on it while it's cold, and they can go over 150k quite easily.

that weird ticking sound you are hearing on startup is piston slap and its pretty normal , but like BrianC said dont beat on it when its cold, thats just asking for trouble...

Let it warm up before beating on it, if not your gonna be swimming in a **** load of repair bills, and fast. After shes up their in the operating temp, beat the **** out of it, bust some sick burn outs, 360's, 180* e-brakes, who gives a ****, its your car. Get sideways on cloverleaf interchanges, slam the passangers head into the head rest, like I said, its your car.

But please take care of your car. Keep it well maintained, well lubes, clean, and keep the INT nice most of all. If you keep it in nice shape, the only thing your gunna **** up is the rear tires, thats it, along with maybe a stock 10 bolt or two, and possible a tranny.

well arent yall some ********. ive changed the oil already i changed it the first day i had it and went over to synthetic instead of regular. flushed my tranny and changed the filter put a new tranny mount on the car. changed the gear dope since the granny that had it probably would never even think of it. ALL im sayin is that im new to my car and im havin fun with it you cant honestly tell me that ya'll dont do burnouts and get sideways (all tires were used when bought, with about half tread) damn man. and as for handling it this car is like a go cart a stock ls1 is nothing if you have been around hot rods your whole life. another reason why i would like to know how long its gonna last because i wanna build the bitch. as for respecting the interior its already fubr'd cause some dumbass tried to put a radio in and took all of the interior pieces out and didnt use new clips it doesnt look bad but the ash tray is loose as for the vert top module and the window switches (typical rub mark on driver seat) but the outside of the car is amazing. and it gets washed everyday just about until its raining. cause im in georgia and the weather is unpredictable. And my daddy didnt do a ******* thing for me he wont do **** thats why i drove an 85 silverado for a year to save money to get this car. i feel a stereotyping upon me. so much for having a forum where you can ask other nice folks for advice

Get off this dudes back, its his car, and his life, let him beat the **** out of both of them, who gives a **** about him anyways?

As far as how long it should last? It well maintianed, and your not always bangin it off the rev limiter and reving the **** out of it, it should last well over 200k miles.

This is why people should not let 16 year olds drive LS1's.

Okay, now your pulling the "southern" thing.

Screw you kid, I hope you wrap that ******* car around a pole. You have no respect for us here. I realize you came in here posting about how hard core you are in your car, but in reality you've prolly only broke traction once. Then you found out how the people here handle punk kids that drive like that and talk about driving like that, and then you are trying to back out of it, b/c you found out that that was not the way to get popular around here

Kinda like trying to impress a girl by taking her to a steak house and finding out shes a vegan...

And Louie83

Please don't think that way. I for one know many good 16 year old f-body driver's, but alas I do know ones that drive like "convertmyz" talks like he does, but I know older guys that do that too.

BOTTOM LINE

Its now how old you are, its how old you act

Now if I were you I would come clean and tell everyone that you were trying to impress us by telling us fake storys of 8 rear tire's being burned up so soon, and driving hard core and stuff like that.

why would i lie? its not hard to burn up used tires. stop, power brake, lay out 50 foot of posi. start a donut dont stop til you choke look at your tires theyre almost gone. wow and im not a kid. just curious about my investment this website made me want and now it backfires because i ask a question about my car and tell you exactly how i treat it???? wow man friendly. its people like ya'll that make me want to sell it because you think you can drive better than anyone on the road. if you were around here id show you exactly how I drive. i dont drive like that anymore i just drove like that to learn the car and find out what it does when. now i have nice tires and im gonna keep them but i still WOT

the reason i wanted to know how long they last is because i really have beat that motor for 3000k straight. with synthetic oil and it used about 2 quarts from then to now is that pcv caused? or cold alluminum block caused

You'll get some PCV blow by during WOT, so if you are going around flooring it and tearing up parking lots/tires doing donuts, you'll have more blow by than normal.

2 quarts of burned oil in 3k miles is alot, engine will still take the abuse but obviously not as well as if you were to take it a bit easier.

Never beat on a cold engine.

F-bodies do not handle like go carts.
