It took you 4 sets of tires to find out what the car does?? Everybody knows that these cars were meant to be driven hard, I think a lot of us maybe just found it immature that someone who is beating the living day lights out of their car and burning up numerous sets of tires comes on here and wants to know how long the engine is gonna last because he wants it to last until he has it paid off...If you want it to last and it is not paid off the answer is simple. Maybe we all misunderstood how you came off. Just be smart and be safe on the road. Thanks.

I'd do the LS6 PCV mod. It's relatively cheap if you're confident enought to do it yourself.

read about it here: www.ls1howto.com

check the manual if you don't have it, it's in there i think it was 5w30 but i'm not sure i'd have to check again, maybe 10 for summer, 5 for winter.

Your car is going to blow up September 17th 2006 @ 7:02 PM EST, have a tow truck handy, and mark your calender.

People have had LS1's blow up at 50k with a cam only while some have made it to 200k on a 150 shot every day of their lives. Its a crap shoot. I understand how much fun it is to rag on your car, hell thats what they're for. I slam through the gears at least once a day in mine, and these days I have calmed down big time. Every single drive used to entail a 3 gear blast. I bought the car at 85k, ragged on it for 25k, put the cam in it at 110k, and it now has 113k making enough power to threaten 120mph in the 1/4.

Seriously though, this website, you will find, is one of the most mature on the intarweb. Its more like a family than any site you will find, name calling results in extreme slamming, and remorse is easily accepted. Irresponsible behavior is not celebrated or respected, and you usually get flamed.

Frying 4 sets of tires is OK.......... if you are #1 in points for the USA drifting competition, but most would call it "excessive".

I get more pleasure out of laying low and creeping around. People around here KNOW that my car will blow the tires off and do donuts at the drop of the pedal, I don't need to prove it. That gets expensive and leaves you nothing to look forward to when your tires wear out

fwiw...if the oil is too thick, the viscosity will prevent it from properly lubricating the main and rod bearings. The ls1 has fairly tight bearing clearances, that is why the manual calls for the thinner oil, unlike that old 85 silverado.
