Well. complete opposite reactions from what i got from the turbo buick forums beleive it or not. the buick guys said the ls1 may be a better choice due to the ls1 cars having a better motor for making major power and being streetable. i do love my car very much but also love f bodys very much. so im kinda stuck. Just reading how soo many of you guys are tellin me to keep the gn, ur makin me appreciate my car more and wanting to hold on to it. which is good. i still have some thinking to do. i mean, the reason i want the f body sooo bad, besides how sexy it looks, is becasue i want the 6 speed and handeling characteristics of the car. but the gn is fun to cruise and watch the people stare at you. and its funny when im pumping gas(im pumping gas into it ALOT by the way) people ask what kind of car it is. some think its a monte carlo lol.

wow this is a big booster for the GN guys on the board lol. I knew I got respect in my GN but didnt expect that kinda reaction on ls1tech. In my honest opinion i don't think "I" would ever consider selling my GN. But Gns aren't for everybody and some just love the nasty V8 and bangin through the gears. Sometimes i think about how badass it would be to have a stout LS1 but there is something about my GN that keeps me hooked like the first day i got it. I think you have too much time and money into the GN just to up and sell it, but a GN may not be right for you.

I had a GN that gave me nothing but trouble and cost me a bunch of money trying to go drag race it. If I could do it again I would have kept the GN stock and picked up a LS1 when I could afford it. The thing is its hard to pick cuz they both bad azz cars.

Gentlemen,

The jury has reached a vedict.....Keep the GN

The people have spoken and and if you get rid of the GN then you'll be found contempt of LS1 board and will be banned FOREVER.

And on a side note, get some nice wide big rims and make it look nice now. Well it looks awsome stock but throw a little flavor in with it.

I just sold my Buick last month.

I miss it, but in having had 3 different turbo Buicks in the last 13 years, I grew a little tired of them. I still love the cars, but I felt it was time to move on and experience something else.

Honestly, from what I read in your posts, it sounds like you have already decided you'd rather have the T/A. Go with what you think will make you the happiest.

If a TA is what you want then go for it. But theres nothing like a spooling turbo flying down the street with guys pointing at your car with there jaws droped! I would keep it. I to thought about trading for an ls1 my friend has a 00 SS and that thing is loud and fast but then I when I take the GN for a Sunday drive trades fade away real quick. But if your tired of the GN the choice is clear.

i worked on gn's for a few years in the late 80's early 90's and even by todays standards that car was ahead of itself if anyway possible i would keep it and get an f-body and have both.

I actually sold my 35th LE to to buy an 87 GN. The GN is so bad ***...and you dont see them on every corner....and to see some young punks face when the TE-63 spooled up...priceless

You'll always be able to find an LS1 somewhere so I'd keep the GN, get the classic plates, and store it 9 months out of the year. It's not everyday you find a restored GN with 5** ponies. It's a piece of history.

Id keep the GN. It is much more unique than an LS1. Plus I would imagine it will be worth a lot more in the future. Just save up a little longer and get an LS1 later...that way you can have both of your dream machines!!

I own an 87 GN and am pushing around 400hp i by far love that car more then the 99' 30th ann. TA that i have, I would say do the same thing i did and keep the GN and get a F- Body. I cant come to terms with thinking about selling the GN.

Keep the GN! I plan on getting one in the future. They are one of the cars that I dreamed of having when I was in high school. A good GN is so rare. I saw a tore up one in Tennessee last week. Broke my heart.

I would never get rid of my Impala either.

TAs will be around for years.
