hehe congrats, I'm coming from a 2004 Subaru WRX which was killed by a deer, then I had a 2003 EVO VIII making 400HP, and then this weekend I'll hopefully get to pick up my new 98 T/A man I cant wait! This Chrysler Cirrus is irritating to drive

i upgraded last year from a 1989 isuzu trooper(4 cyl). I remember trying to pass somebody that was going 55 and I would get up next to them with it on the floor and then had to slow back down because I couldn't make it around them

Hey, I'm a n00b here, lookin to learn a lot on here. I'm lookin to trade up from my 115fwhp Saturn (loud as ****, equally as slow, low 16's FTW) to either a 98-02 Trans Am WS6 or an old Camaro and drop in something huge like a 427 or something. I'm past my ricer days of driving like a jack *** in traffic and I have matured considerably since I got pulled over for doin 100. I keep it on the track now. I'm tired of my wimpy 4-banger and don't feel like dishing out enough for a new car just to get it where LS1's are stock. The time and money involved to get my Saturd to where I wanna be is greater than just buying a WS6 and camming it.

You will love the instant torque of a good v8...it spoils you after dealing with turbo lag.

I never had a turbo, so I didn't have to deal with the lag. I didn't have VTEC either, so I still didn't have any lag in power (VTEC, it's turbo lag without the turbo, it's like waiting for bad sex). But I did have a more torque than a few Hondas with like 40 or 50 more HP. I want a good V8. I'm trying to find all the write-ups I can, but it's not easy. All the Saturn forums have a n00b section where it's all basic questions/problems, stickies, and the like. I'm also not used to having anything resembling a good aftermarket. I'm used to taking what's available because it's usually the only one of that part. Having choices is going to drive me nuts. I'm going to try and keep the n00b questions to a minimum and do a lot of searching. I don't know when I'm going to be able to get a 98-02 WS6 M6 (really what I'm looking for, as the LS1 Camaros don't do it in the looks department for me. WS6 just looks like a demon on wheels). It may be as late as 5 years down the road since I'm still in college (engineering owns me, trying to change that around), but I'm hoping for around fall of '07, since I should have about $15-16k saved up and hopefully I can pay off most of it and get a pretty good financing deal. And after looking up and reading all this crap, I'm going to try and keep the length of the posts down, too.

As warned, be very careful in the rain. As far as the above post, this is what a rainy day and an incompetent SUV driver(not saying youre one) did for me:

Result of dumbass

I'd have to say goosing it around the corners is almost as much of a F-Body killer as rain.

Ive seen to many friends try and whip it around a corner and find themself facing on coming traffic.

AND THE BIGGEST ADVICE I CAN OFFER YOU, NEVER EVER EVER EVER LET A FRIEND WHO IS NOT USED TO THE POWER DRIVE YOUR CAR....

And dont be a idiot and drive on bald tires...

Other wise welcome to the ls1 relm buddy

I let my girl drive it home one night (I was with her) but I think she was afraid to give it gas... so it never even got up to the 4k stall speed. Had that hit... she'd probably **** her pants.

amen to that, I upgraded from a Ford Ranger 4cyl.... I was ALWAYS WOT in that thing just to stay up with other's normal accel. Now i am very easy on my Z28.

One big ******* difference in power!

oh, and i didnt heed the warnings, and had to spend 1100 to erase the impact a ditch made on my car

Try all weather tires. BFG KDWS worked great for me when mine was a DD. F-bodies are not any more dangerous in the rain then any other vehicle I have owned. The only conditions that make them dangerous in the rain is when you have drag radials, slicks and or are driving too fast for road conditions (80+ in heavy rain is stupid for any vehicle as hydroplaning can occur).

Idiot driver = #1 F-body killer

Grats on your new ride and welcome to the dark side of the force
