My friends 02 Z28 with 14,500 miles cost him 15K or something I think, less if anything. My friend bought a M6 SS for 6500 with 64000 on the odo.

I went to a car dealer the other day and looked at a car for a freind.

Blue car around 80,000-90,000 miles. Ugly *** white drop top, ugly *** white leather, and other bull ****. Somebody put altezza lights on it. 1998 i believe.

I asked what they were asking, 10k?

He laughed, your not gonna get a car like this for 10k. Like I was joking. I guess the guy was some sort of Fbody expert.

I pointed out my car i picked up for 10K, newer, more options, and in 2x better shape.

"Oh, thats a t top car, no one wants those"

Last time i checked no one on earth would want a drop top with a white top. Ugliest **** I've seen in a while.

Chicago may very well be THE most expensive part of the country for F-Bodies. Hence me driving to colorado for my SS!

99 NBM SS M6, 63,500 miles. Around chicago this car woulda been in the 16-20 range dependng on what dealer probbaly. I picked it up for 10... I think it was worth the trip!

Dealers don't buy cars from an auction unless it's about half book value. They love to lie about how much they bought the cars for. I got mine private. I was just sick of their games and lies.

One dealer wanted to add $200 for the 100pt inspection they did when they got the car. What a joke.

I'm in Chicago and I got my 2000Z in my sig for $9,500 from a private party. You can find a good deal if you are patient.

There are good dealerships out there, unfortunately, the bad ones are easier to find. I sold cars for a while and i like to think i worked at one of the good ones, but even then some of the other salesmen around me were less than honest.

I'll tell you one thing, whatever you do, don't buy from a Lithia store. They are (were? not sure if it's still going on) in the middle of a multi-million dollar law suit for scamming people.

It was BONE STOCK as far as I could tell. The reason I remember is i had a 95 TA and when I saw them asking 13K for their 96 in MUCH WORSE SHAPE than mine, I pulled in and asked them to buy mine for $8500 they heehawwed around and finally I asked them why theirs was worth so much more than mine when it was obviously on its last legs and mine was running strong and not shitted up.

THanks for the pic comment, it jsut took me a while to wash my car and get a picture taken of it

What a ripoff. The local Ford dealership in St. Robert, Missouri want 32k for a 2003 Cobra with like 20k on herThey are stupid as hell and it has sat for a month.

When I worked for Ford we had 6 03 Cobras new on the lot that didnt sell for 8 months. maybe the 40k sticker was doing it...lol.

I agree on the whole driving the distance to get the price you want...but I find it funny because I have driven 400+ miles one way to the chicago area for both of my f-bodies I have bought only because they were a steal compared to cars in my area, I guess I just found them at the right time...

But ya its unbelievable what f-bodies are going for in this area, especially the WS.6 and SS cars....when I was looking the average price for a 98-00 T/A was about 16k with 50k miles on it that had been driven in the winter, were not in mint condition etc...and that is a non WS.6... add another 2k to that if it is from a dealer in this area...

I know a guy who is selling my old 94 Z28 that I sold to him and he is asking $9,000 with around 72k miles...I know that you can get LS1 cars for that price with the same if not lower miles if you travel to the right places...sad thing is that he will actually get that for the car too...in fact he might have already sold it...

I picked up my 99 SS with every option,T tops,M6,102,000 miles, ONE OWNER for 9,600. To my understanding, finding a one owner vehicle for that price is like finsing a virgin in a whorehouse. The only flaws the car had was the leather of the drivers side seat was worn and it had the unavoidable few rock chips on the hood. Found the car through AutoTrader and drove 200 miles to go see it. I was also watching the Ls1 Cars for sale board as well as picking up every Auto Trader.

I personally am convinced tht the ONLY way to buy a used car is through a private owner-even if you have to drive a few hundred miles you can save yourself thousands.
