Unless his version of "taking off" means mashing the gas. Gotta keep those revs low until it gets warmed up, especially on such things as aftermarket valve springs with aggressive cams.

what I do is leave the car idling 30 seconds then I drive and try and shift below 1500 RPMs until it gets to 160. then I drive til 3000 until optimum temperature.

I used to let it idel for 3 - 5 minutes, but this is wrong and will cause condensation and waste your fuel, since the car is cold started It will be running rich.

Well he is a newb, been here since Feb and has 95 posts. If he REALLY knew about these cars and their oiling system then he can talk.

But 1 min running is all these cars really need unless your car is out is sub zero temps. What do I know, I am just a Chick.

So your calling me a "dumbazz"? Please, if your going to call someone that, spell it correctly. Why have you not argued my points? I've been waiting a few days now to hear how many times you have sent your oil in do be analyzed before you give us more diarea of the hands

Sit back, read, go out and work on your car and others for a few years, and then tell everyone what is better for his or her car.

There is nothing wrong with driving away after starting the car.

The key is not beating on it (ie keeping revs down) until it is warmed up.

What about this do you not understand?

1. Many others share the opionon.

2. Your opinion isn't worth anything without something to back it up. It definately isn't worth enough to begin personal attacks.
