Question about free air mod
some of you have replaced the bellow bee\tween the MAF and the intake with a fernco 3x3" hose. so, my question is this, were would I find it, and did you have any problems getting it to fit correctly? also, any pointers should I chose to do this mod before I do it? and 1 last question, removeing the MAF screen, did you get any engine lights, or have any problems with things getting by your filter and into it? I have a problem with sand for some reason building up under my filter in the air box, which is a SLP air lid, and am a ltttle worried about something getting by the filter and into the MAF and trashing it. thanks for any info or help with these questions.

Re: Question about free air mod
You can get the Fenco hose at Lowes. But be carefull. I have heard of the fenco hose breaking or cracking the air lid. It does have the give as the stock hose and when the motor tourqes over it can put stress on the air box. I put ported and polished Maf ends from thunder racing and have had no problems. It will tend to lean you out a bit, so if you are already lean it could cause you a problem. I was rich so it did help.

Re: Question about free air mod
The MAF screen won't stop sand particles from entering the intake. That's what the air filter is for. The MAF screen is there to straighten out air flow. I removed mine and it helped lean things out. Leaner conditions produce more h.p. But make sure you're not too lean. I suggest removing it.
The !FRA mod is awesome. I get so much extra air in there I actually found a newspaper page all bunched up under my air filter.

Okay, what exactly is the !FRA mod? I have already cut out the plate under the air filter, is this what you guys are calling it, or is that the MAF screen? Thanks
