for those that think the third gens are "so ugly" check this link out.

http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/au...ighlight=gunny

for more clarification on your question, go to www.thirdgen.org. ask those guys and see what they think. unless you're going to do a lt1/ls1 swap, and a 4th gen interior swap, i'd say go with the 4th gen

The third gen with proper chasis reinforcment and upgraded suspension is everybit as good as a 4th gen, superior in some ways.

It's lighter, has a true long hood short deck body style, it's not as large dimensionally, etc, etc.

My LS1 is much faster than my thirgen was, but I still miss my 92 Z28, and can't wait until I can afford to get one as a project. Personally I would vote to swap an LS1 in there if you are mechanically inclined. If not, either live with the slow TBI or sell it for an LS1.

Funny, I thought EVOs were rally bred cars, and I remember correctly isn't built as a straight line only car and I'm pretty sure could outhandle F bodies in corners like crazy. Yeah it's quick, but even quicker in the corners.

I am in the same situation. I own two thirdgens. I love them both but have a kid on the way and I am not going to be able to put the time and money into them that I want too. So I was thinking about selling them both and getting a ls1 trans am ws6. That way I would have a nice dependable sp? car that is fast at the same time w/o dumping a bunch of money into it. 1989 Trans am GTA is a 350 tpi w/ 1 5/8" Flowtech headers, dual Car sound high flow cats and a flowmaster cat back, modified Maf, ported upper intake, 160 degree thermostat, 700r4 with Corvette servos, Corvette stall, and a Superior shift kit. Other is a 1985 Z28 pretty much stock. Heres a few pictures. What do you guys think I should do? What do you think either car is worth? Thanks for the help!

Don't sell either. If one breaks, you still have a backup to use...can't beat that for dependability. On the other hand, if you want a fast car without having to mess with it, and great reliability, then the 4th gen is the way to go. It seems like you have two nice cars there, that's why I said to keep them; but if you have the bug for no hassle speed then LS1 is probably a better choice.

I'll agree 75% of the third gens on the road nowadays look like **** and trailer trash, but I honestly didnt think they started looking the greatest until 89-92 and I wouldn't own a third gen that didnt have atleast an L98.

I am in the process of selling my car to buy a 6-speed LS1 camaro, either with the sports package with the ground effects, or an SS, cuz the plain z28's look...well too plain. Everyone and their dog has a ws6 and trans am so I wouldn't get one of those, might consider a formula since u dont see too many.

The GTA has a L98 w/ a few mods on it! The 85Z has a 305 tpi. I bought the car back when I was 15 and I had no idea. Its a strong runner and could be driven anywhere. I want a ls1 t/a because it already has everything I want hood/17" wheels ect. If I went w/ a camaro I would be right back into investing money into it. I would want a hood new wheels ect. i want a car that looks good stock, and has a good amount of power outta the box.

If you had the money, you could put an ls1 in. This type of project could turn out nice or if half assed, it could be a pile. The thing I would like about this option is that a clean ls1 powered 3rd gen would be rare. Everybody has 4th gens, so nothing new there--eventually you'll want mods to make it different$$$. I don't know how much the swap cost though.
