id say to get both, so what youd hafto wait alil longer for money to build but it would be worth it, you will be older wich = less money for insurance. wiser, the ls1's are alot of car for beginers. you can mod one while you drive the other ... you probly wont get **** for a third gen.. idk atleast not what youd want for it.. i got an 84 z24 m5 as my "first car" before i got my permit. although i took my test in my dads truck and drove an oldsmobile intrigue for a year before my z28 was upgraded enough to run 14's spinning 3 gears in the quarter and road worthy... took me about 5g's with full suspension wheels tires 350 bored out to a 355 heads cam intake etc , but i loved both cars my third gen handles better in the turns but my 4th gen just feels like a rocket it grips and gos where as the third gen just spins and spins some more. i wouldnt get rid of either though short of saying someone would trade my thirdgen for there c5 vette and that wouldnt happen..

I had a 91RS 305tbi. OMG was it slow! I had the car for a while and loved it for a while but I don't miss it.

lol yea the 305TBI is no speed demon, but i love my third gen. But just buying a 4th gen is defintaly the easiest thing to do.
