I would have gone for a '87-93 Mustang with the 302 pushrod, particularly '89-92 because they came with forged pistons, MAF, EFI and a stronger main block. Or if you don't like the fox body style, then I would have gone for '94-95 with the SN95 body style, the same as your '98, but with the 302 pushrod. You can find a nice fox body Stang with the 302 anywhere from $1k-$3k and they are usually nice, but with high miles. You can find a nice '94-95 SN95 body Stang from $3k-5k. I know you already purchased your Mustang, but I'm not a big fan of modular engines, I prefer pushrods. I don't know how you feel about that. I don't hate mod motors, I just prefer pushrods. I, myself, plan on getting a '89-92 M5 fox body Stang here within the next few months. I just got my 'Z paid off and now I want a beater and I'm really liking the fox body style. No Ford hating here. But, just want to let you know, nice car!

How come the switch man? I am a sucker for 95-98 GT's though, favorite body style by far.

Zex makes a complete Plug and Play nitrous kit for those cars that came with a fuel return line. Good find BTW.

thats what i said when i drove it off the lot.......thanks for all the support guys. i dont plan on modding this car too much, just run the **** out of it. i went for a "newer" car because of the low mileage. i need somthing that is going to be reliable for a DD. today i took it to work and ran diagnostics and the whole 60pt inspection on it and it checked out fine. i changed the tranny, diff and engine oil. gave it a radiator flush and all was cool. no leaks or anything. im going to tear the T-45 apart next weekend and rebuild it. then take the damn 2.73's out and put in some 3.73's or 4.10's to give it some more low end get up and sorta go.

have fun and be safe man.

Sounds like you got a good deal. With all the rice out on the road, its not a bad thing to have a V8 RWD car, even if its a Ford. Congrats.

nope, h/c/i full bolt on ls1.

though there are glaring deficiencies in power i prefer my sn95. i will get back in the genIII/IV game in the future when funds allow, maybe a c5.

update guys, the 98 GT is off the road, and a fresh rebuilt 01 32 vavle Cobra motor is going in along with the freshly rebuilt transmission from the Cobra. 3.73 gears are also going in. i got the motor for 1000 bucks. The guy that had it before me got it hot and pushed a head gasket out. i had my engine builder look it over and he said it could be saved. all 8 cylnders were honed and resleeved, the heads were planed and ported, having some hotter cams put in it, (not sure specs yet). with all im having done, my builder said i should have around 415 RWHP. and he said that was an underestimate so im not dissapointed. all this is costing me 3G's out the door. so i basically have a 98 mustang GT with a brand new 01 cobra motor for 6500 bucks.

I love the sn95 body style, a lot better htne the 99+ ones. Those are nice cars, even if they arnt too fast. But then agian who gives a **** if its "fast" if your not gona be a pro drag racer or a hardcorde street racer. Its just about having a car which looks cool, sounds cool and can keep the ricers in check. Enjoy.
I used to have a 95 mustang v6, and the interiors kick the **** out of the fbody ones, in overal quality and looks. Especially the black cloths ones. Everything feels more solid.

EDIT: **** an a' a cobra motor? God damn, where did you find that extra 3k to put into the car? I thoght there was a budget? Either way nice.

If it has a 350 tpi in it and decent mileage it's worth it. A lot of them sell for 4000+ if they are in good condition.
