Timing chain?
At what hp range is a new timing chain a good idea? What would be the benefits on a bolt-on/cam LS1? This is my dd, and i have Headers/intake manifold planned for the summer, why should i /shouldnt i go with an aftermarket timing chain?

The LS2 timing chain is an awesome choice. It runs about $30 from SDPC, fits on stock sprockets, and is much much stronger (thicker links). A new set of LS2 sprockets and a ported oil pump is not a bad idea either, especially for your '98. The LS2 chain is PLENTY strong to make gobs of HP on, and is incredibly cheap.
In fact, I'm not even sure if you can buy LS1 chains anymore.
