Intead of going with a really loose stall or super short gears, just do both and balance them out.

I'd say go with a moderate stall and 3.73 gears. That will be the best of both worlds

i disagree. i'm not saying it's a terrible idea, i personally think there's better options. reason being, people get gears to tighten up the stall rather than gain performance since a tenth is really all you gain with a gear swap after a moderate to big stall. i say, go a stall and cam instead of a stall and gears. the bigger cam will tighten the converter back up to a stock-like feel and you'll get a hell of a lot more performance out of it than the lousy 1 tenth gears will net you, plus you'll have less traction issues since gears kill traction all over the powerband and a cam won't kick in til a higher rpm. 2.73's + 3600 stall + 228 cam sounds like a winning combination to me. you may even save gas over gears.
