Hmmm...Maybe its odometer fraud just to claim a record. I don't know why the seller would lie about it, but 330,000 miles is really impressive, much more impressive than some guy who bought an LS1 just to put in his garage as an investment. You only live once, this guy obviously enjoyed the car.

I'd personally stay away from a car with mileage that high. Even if you plan to rebuild the motor, rebuild the trans and upgrade the rear end, you're still going to have a chassis with 330k on it. Interior components and electrics, chassis components and miscellaneous other gremlins are going to rear their ugly head and give you continual headaches, I'm certain.

Why not just save up a few more thousand, and buy a car with much lower mileage?

i think it would make a nice project car... but to be honest the car books out a little lower. i would bargain him down a little. still pretty cool to see such a high number on the odo. its a nice slap in the face for people who rag on american cars

Yeah, odo pics would be awesome. It's the original engine?!?! That's ridiculous! I bet he ran German Castrol and changed it all 110 times.

Thats a shady under 50K miles a year, about a 130 miles per day, I could easily see some ones commute being 90 miles each way.

look its worth it, Hell its worth 5k. Miles has nothing to do with how anything works. He obviously took car of the car, I bought mine with 82k and 2 months later spun a bearing at 89k. However I beat the crap out of my cars. Most things go bad with age, not miles.

That's along the lines of what I was thinking. If the LS1s got 330K on it, it'd be hard to find someone to buy it if you're an honest guy. Me? I'd trow a 250 shot on and tear up the strip untill she blows. Sounds like you'll be replacing most of the car anyway. Also, I agree that 3K is what you should shoot for. The paint must have a million bug dings, seeing how many my 44,XXX mile car has.

well, with that type of stuff, wouldn't that be more dependant on the age of the car, rather than how much it's been driven? It's only a 6-year old car, so the technology in it isn't exactly ancient

Not that I'm disagreeing with you...hell, brand new cars have those type of gremlins lurking around in them
