They sure are popular. Between all the LT1 vs LS1 and the M6 vs A4 battles, I'm amazed when any F-body enthusiast has time to argue with the Mustang or Honda guys

I'm sick of seeing them pop up in technical or welcome type sections. IMO these debates belong in kill stories or off topic areas. Why would a LT1 guy want to start a debate at LS1tech anyway? Camaroz28.com is a better place since it is a more LT1 based site and they would have a lot more people trying to back them up.

I say we all build fast F-bodies and beat the crap out of Honda Civics and SRT-4's

I have had two LT1 cars and now my current LS1. All I can say is that both motors kept us ahead of the Mustangs.

Coming into this a little late... but why not buy an LS1 for your LT1 car, and then make a stroker out of it??? Might be a lil spendy, but then you'll know what all these ls1 ppl are talking about? Best of both worlds yeah? 408 stroker in your current car??? No way to lose...

Just my two cents... but then again, I dont know you, and neither does anyone else. So what the hell do we really matter? We're here for advice. My advice would be to put an LSx in your car and go from there.

Do what makes you and your wallet happy...because in the end... your wallet will do the talking.

i did not start this thread to say that the lt1 is better then the ls1. i think we all know that the ls1 is for sure a better motor. i was simply asking if there was much else different except motors between the 93-97 and 98-02. because i already have a 95 lt1 in excellent condition and just wanted to know if chevy didnt make any other major changes with them then it would be kind of stupid for me to buy a 02 when i can put a 383 stroker in the car i have now and be faster then stock or modded 02s for alot less money. i am a die hard chevy person and i think that nothing is more stupid then when we all argue with each other about whos car is better, so i would never do that! we are all on the same side! now lets go round up some horses!

Shhh. Don't give him any ideas Let him build his 475 rwhp LT1 so the 402/408/427 LS1 crowd can keep him as a dot in thier rearview mirrors

Seriously though I think that would be a lot more hassle and expense then it would be worth. It would probably be cheaper and easier to buy a LS1 with a blown motor for dirt cheap and have TSP build a 408 long block

I have both and in Stock form the LS1 will murder an LT1. Mod for mod an LS1 in the top end. True the LT1 seems to have a better launch but it just dies out after that. Put it this way when I was stock I went toe to toe with an LT1 corvette and still put two cars on the Vette. Now with my current LS1 mods I have mudered slightly modded bolt ons LT4 ZR1's. No comparison here. Good luck with the LT1 though, you will need it.
