+1 for the stall. I would not waste money on gears for the weak a$$ 10 bolt learned that lesson the hard way several times lol.. Just leave the stock gears in there until u can afford a 12 bolt it will be stronger with the stock gears in there. Not saying it WILL break cuz there are several very fast cars with 10 bolts but more than likely they had stock gears in them and of course they were autos. Hell i broke a 3.73 gear from a roll in my old 10 bolt.. but with a stall in there its not gonna matter cuz you are gonne be happy and your are gonna be smoking the hides make sure u get a trans cooler also

Hold brake. Hit gas.

As for the above post, you beat me to it, all 01-02 cars have the LS6 intake. Another route for first mods would be to upgrade the suspension.

Torque converter is the best first mod you could possibly do to an A4. After that, exhaust IMO... but converter without a doubt should be first on any auto guy's list.

Depending on how much you'd like to spend at first, and what you plan to do in the future.

I went with a Lid, and and cut-out. I skipped the cat back since will be doing long tubes and true duals pretty soon. But if you you don't plan on doing a true dual set up, a good cat-back is the way to start off.

Dont get a K&N filter please, they just oil up the MAF wires which causing fueling issues. Stick with the paper filter.

Thanks for all the help everyone. I do have one more question that might sound stupid. Is there a post on here that explains what I should be looking for in a TC(and how one actually works ). Like I said before I dont know much about AT. And if any of you would like to give me suggestions on what I should look for that would be great. Thanks for all the imput.

That will show you how they work. If you get one the main issue is the stall speed. I would look for one around the 3600 RPM area.

Converter will be a night and day difference over gears. Most stock LS1's DO have traction problems on street tires, haha.

start off simple, a lid (jsut picka fucknig lid theyre all the same) cat-back, headers. after that theres egars and a stall, a stall will always hands down give you the biggest gain for a stock car pretty much. the thing is stalls should be matched up with your set-up so mods done before a stall is in a way better.
