GTO T-56 6 Speed Shifter w/Leather Boot on LS1 Hey...Just wondering if anybody knew if this shifter assembly is a direct fit on a F-Body. I found one listed on a local parts ad, and the guy claimed it would require no modifications, but wanted to make sure before making the purchase. Looks like it would be a cool interior mod... TIA

No, they are not the same. I think the GTO shifters are off-set because the trans is farther forward than in an F-Body, or something like that. They are more difficult to change in a GTO too.

Save me $120 and a big headache trying to get my money back because I'm sure he would have change his story and say he never said it was going to fit perfect and I should have check with the dealer before.

Just get a Pro 5.0 or a B&M and a nice shift ***.
