Default GTO T-56 6 Speed Shifter w/Leather Boot on LS1

Hey...Just wondering if anybody knew if this shifter assembly is a direct fit on a F-Body. I found one listed on a local parts ad, and the guy claimed it would require no modifications, but wanted to make sure before making the purchase. Looks like it would be a cool interior mod... TIA

No, they are not the same. I think the GTO shifters are off-set because the trans is farther forward than in an F-Body, or something like that. They are more difficult to change in a GTO too.

Cool...appreciate the feedback.. Craig

Save me $120 and a big headache trying to get my money back because I'm sure he would have change his story and say he never said it was going to fit perfect and I should have check with the dealer before.

Not only that, but didnt the auto mags rip on the GTO's shifter? Calling it all kinds of nasty things like "rubbery"

Just get a Pro 5.0 or a B&M and a nice shift ***.
