Default my brights

im having a problem turning on my brights. unless i have the steering wheel adjusted all the way up i cant pull back the lever to turn them on. is this a common problem?

I've never heard about it before, but that doesnt really mean that much...

Did you try doing a search? That should always be your first step in trying to find an answer for any questions you might have.

I had a 3rd gen with a similar problem(wouldn't engage at all). For what it's worth, based on looks/feel the mechanism is either nearly or exactly the same in the 4th gens. A real piece of crap if you've driven any more modern or even similar model year cars, just plain cheap.

I never had mine fixed, but I think you would be safe in assuming the mechanism is damaged and will need replacement. IIRC it was around $300 for my 3rd gen, but this was a long time ago, and I never actually replaced it. GL.

No joke, I use my high beams only when absolutely necessary for fear of this same failure in my Z/28....lol, we paid for the motor, not much else...
