this is what i did. kept the plate bolted on. used velcro around outer edges of plate cover. with both pieces of velcro together put plate cover back in. then i removed cove again to make sure velcro tape adhered well to inside of the well for the plate cover. put cover back on, good to go. end result, if need to show plate occurs, plate cover comes off easily. plus its on pretty good so i dont have to worry aout it falling off. maybe this will help.......

The front cover snaps right off. I recommend using a screw driver. Take the cover that guards the under carriage off. Get a nut behind there so you can fit the bolt through the nut. Then torque it to about 250 lb/ft. MAKE SURE IT IS 250 LB/FT! If you go anymore you might crack your bumper. If you did everything correctly you are LUCKY.
If it does not stay on you will have to remove the driver's side valve cover and take out the intake spring, valve, and pushrod from piston 7. You are going to have to remove the head to get the valve off. After that is done, spray the outside of your car with some acid. This will help the license plate stick on to it.
I hope this helps. It sure as hell worked for me. Oh yeah, one more thing!
VERY IMPORTANT: U.S. Law states that if you have a front license plate, you can only have three wheels/tires MAXIMUM on your vehicle. This can be up to a $50,000 fine.
I would recommend taking the front left wheel and tire off.
Phew! Almost forgot that.
