Idle trouble During the winter or when it's really cold and I start my car it idle's like crazy. It will just go up and down, from about 300rpm where it almost dies out to about 1700rpm. WFT? any help would be appreciated
Check the IAC sensor...another poster in the general LS1tech just had similar issues(also stalling at speed) and has since solved his issues.

might want to check/replace your PCV also, mine was idling funny and even though the PCV still rattled when I shook it, replacing it made the idle solid- 
its like 3 bucks so you don't have much to lose

No storage and i just replaced the battery last week, and like I sid it's only when it's really cold

Had a Mustang that acted the same way. Mine started after the addition of longtubes.
Was told that it just took longer to warm the o2's since they were farther back.
In cold weather you would have to help it for about 20-30 seconds, then it would idle with no problems.

Mine also did it before the MAF and TB but started after the long tubes
