Default Bought a 98 Formula yesterday!!!

Well I picked up my new LS1 car, a black 1998 Pontiac Formula. Its an A4 w/T-tops power everything, Grey Leather. Its in good shape. It needs a couple speakers, 2 new sun visors, headliner and a turn signal lamp for the right front as well as the power antenna fixed. Little stuff to me though. I paid $5500 for it. It had 122k on the odometer. It came w/ an SLP lid, SLP MAF and Flowmaster muffler in place of the stocker. Here are some pictures.

Thanks jetlag. This is my 2nd 4th gen and 4th F-body total. My old F-body was the one in my Avatar, a 99 Z28. I also own a 1990 "TA" and used to own an 87 F-bird

Very nice!! My formula looks the same on the outside but I got the 16 inch "twisties" wheels instead.

looks good. i would try and find a stock maf for it instead cause the aftermarket ones don't to much and can hurt you.

He included it in the sale as well as stock lid & air baffle. I'm going to put it back on soon.

not a bad price. i recommend you start a fund for a new tranny as ~stock cars tend to keep 4L60E's to about 150k, so it wouldn't hurt to have the funds just in case. of course this figure isn't set in stone.

good looking car, gotta love those formulas!

It was rally red, it does look like it though, I spun it out in the rain into a pole, lol. Totalled it, got to keep the wheels though

yea. the 3-4 bands on the stock 4L60E's are a weak point. another common failure is the sunshell cracking. this is usually due to heat over long periods of time from a design flaw resulting in not enough trans fluid getting to the parts to cool them i believe. if your sunshell goes out, you'll lose 2nd gear, 4th gear and reverse.

So far, $5500 is the cheapest I've seen a good running, good condition LS1 F-Body go on here. Good deal.
