Default pan and oil pickup ?

im swapping the pans on my '04 lq9 from the truck pan to an F body pan and pickup tube.. things were going smooth until i tried putting the pan on. the pickup tube near the front (front pass. side) is hitting the pan and wont allow it to seat. there is still close to an inch gap between the pan and block because of the pickup tube..

did gm use different oil pumps between the truck and car engines that would tuck the pickup tube up higher to clear the pan? or are there different pickup tubes for F body cars? like say a '99 F body pickup tube vs. an '04 F body pickup tube? thanks

when changing the pan ithink you have to change pick up tube and thefilter im getting ready to put an lq4 with cncd 243 heads and about a 580 lift cam in my 69 but im just wondering why dont the truck pans work on the chevelles i was thinking that wouldnt be a problem.
