And don't get caught up on brand names. There's not even a guarantee that if you buy gas at Brand X station that you are getting Brand X gas, particularly in a rural area. Most people will argue with me but I've worked in a refinery and seen what tanker trucks pull in....
There are already many threads on gas brand/octane, and I'll say here what I did there....most all name-brand gas is nearly the same. I also have worked in refineries and oil yards. Gas companies buy time off a pipeline....meaning Amoco gets its gas off the same pipe that Exxon and Mobil does, most times. They add in their own additives, but the differance is minimal. It's all the same, just use a good name brand, or an off brand that you know and trust, and use super, either 91 or 93, whatever is in your area. But I wouldn't use E85.
I fuel up on 91+ octane. I had detonation problems with anything less than 91 in my old LT1, and I don't want to play that game with my LS1.
I also change my oil every 6,000 miles using GC 0w30. It has no more and in most cases LESS breakdown than mobil1 5w30 does at 3,000. Sometimes I have to add a quart somewhere between changes due to consumption.
