that vid of the 4th gear burnout, the guy was shifting like he doesnt have one. wouldnt you be able to shift like your driving (off gas, clutch in, shift, clutch out, back on gas) where the car wouldnt bounce around.

Well he never said if he was at the track or on the streets. I have an m6 and a line lock so I do em both ways. The line lock is cheating, but a real good idea and always used at the track.
On the streets I get the revs going a little bit then I let out the clutch. I dont dump it, just let it out and nail the gas. The tire are spinning instantly and the car isnt moving anywhere really. Keep the rpms high enough to not get traction and thats that. I pulsate it a few times and ride it out until it grabs. Usually with the rpms around 6k. OR if I wanna get really wild I bang second and keep them going. This can be a littel tricky sometimes as they really spin fast and if you dont keep the *** end in line it gets sideways in a hurry. If I used the line lock I could run thru the gears no problem.

3. let completly off the brakes when done and let tires stop themselves.

I've got an A4 and i usually
1. hold the brakes just enough to stop the car from rolling forward
2. start the burnout about 3/4 throttle
3. hold throttle and brakes for a second or two
4. release brakes and floor it
5. lift off throttle when needed
I've had no noticeable drivetrain/brake damage from doing this

I don't do burnouts on street tires. Pointless and a waste of money. Only time I'd do it is for a camera when I am getting the last bit of tread off them before I get a new set. Just haze them really quick to clean them off. Spin = not going down the road fast enough.

hahaha i just saw this thread from several months back! thanks for the comments fellas! lol. and by the way, Revelation Z28, the reason the rear of my car was bouncing around was due to the different suspension setup that i tried for a little while. any time i would get on the gas, the suspension would plant the rear and since the pavement has no give, it feeds back and the body lifts up some. look on streetfire.net and search 98tadriver, youll see some more videos of that. since then i installed a 12 bolt with the regular f-body suspension. and it doesnt do that anymore
and no, you wouldnt be able to shift normally, because the tires would grab.

Good! Must be my imagination, but I swear I could smell the rubber burning.
