Additional chassis structure on 4th gen f-body convertibles
What additional chassis bracing was put on the convertible models (4th gen f-body)? I've read they come with some kind of subframe connector, but is that the only addition?
Thanks,
Jim

there were some pics floating around a messageboard somewhere that had side-by-side pics showing the differences. There are, for lack of a better term, subframe connecters... it's a stamped steel boxed frame that looks stamped into the floorpan running down each side of the body where you would think a traditional frame rail would be. A coupe has nothing there. One of the reasons 'vert floor mats, particularily the passengerside floor mat, is a little more narrow than the coupe's floor mat. There is also some additional stamping up around the shock tower area. Stock for Stock, the Fbody convertible is pretty stiff compared to other verts, but I would still invest in a good set of aftermarket subframe connectors... coupe or convertible.

Thanks SuperSport!!
Any chance you (or someone else) could take a few pics of these stamped braces on the floorpan and in the strut tower area? Thanks for this information.
