Default 160 Degree Thermostat??

Is it worth it, how does it benefit my engine, or is there no use to replace the stock one

all a 160 thermostat does is start letting coolant through when the temp gets to 160. you do need to have your car tuned though once you get it so your fans will cut on at the right time. it really isnt needed, just have your fans turn on temp turned down so that they come on earlier.

Lots of info on this board about this. I'd suggest a search for TONS of reading.

FWIW, I'm not a beleiver in 160 stats for LS1 motors. Stock 186*F stat with fan tuning is the way to go, IMO.
