Better be careful to anyone who is insuring it as parents vehicle. Itll be cheap as hell but if you get in an accident you can bet theyre gonna find some way to **** you over. Example, youll have to be a secondary driver to get it cheap and as a secondary driver on a vehicle you cant drive it to school/work/whatever you do.

o, and im 19 with a clean record and i pay 350 a month.

You pay 350 under your name only or is it included in your parent's policy?

Im going to be 19 soon and Ive been quoted 750-850$ A MONTH form several insurance places. Clean record....

I plan on buying a LS1 TA sometime soon.

I guess I'd have to get it in my parent's policy huh?

Thats under my name. I couldnt imagine it would be more than about 80 or 90 under my parents policy.

And to austin21, paying 136 a month for storage sounds ridiculous, i think i pay about 20 bucks a month for mine and thats for fire and theft. How could yours be that close to your regular insurance cost? What does anyone else pay for storage?

I'm 18 and pay roughly about $250 a month with the car in my dads name. However, the insurance company knows I'm the driver because the car was in my name for a day, but thanks to the guys at Porter Chevy (where I bought my car) for being nice and letting us change over the documents to my dads name after we found out that insurance companies wanted $6600 for 6 months of insurance with the car in my name.

And I'm not joking about $6600 for just 6 months, I got this quote from Geico and I believe Allstate. So even though I am paying more than some people it sure beats the **** out of prices from other competitors (if you want to call them competitors with those rates )

All I have to say is at that age get your parents to co-sign (if they have good driving records) and put it under their insurance policy with you as a part time driver. its way better, I was only paying 50 a month for my 96Z when I was 19.
Im now 23, not married, with an 00 SS and Im paying 128$/month (for full coverage 50/100/300 with 500 collision/250 comp deductables)

I'm 17 and drive a '99 trans am. I have to pay for car payment and insurance. I can tell you now, no way I could afford it under my own name. I'm under my parents insurance and I pay Around $650 for 6 months of full coverage. Still a considered a sports cart but a ton cheaper than your own name.

DEFINATELY under your parents.

When I first got my Camaro Z28 it was $300 a month. I moved to a nice high population area in Texas and it jumped to $450 a month.

Then the Air Force decided I needed to move to Colorado Springs (obviously in Colorado) and then my insurance company told me it was going to be $698 a month. A MONTH!!!!!!!

I called around a LOT and that was about the best I was going to get. Apparently they basically told me they were not going to insurance a 19 year old to drive on ice covered roads in a RWD, 300+ car, with an engine that was in the cars that take first, second, and third in the list of the top five cars in vehicular fatalities (Corvette, Firebird, Camaro).

I pay $86 a month for collision. Thats for the Z and my 94 Sunbird and road side assistance )towing and all). Thats with one fender bender that was my fault. Before that it was $72.

I am 23 and thats with GEICO. So far they are the cheapest and VERY good people and will look out for you. Keep in mind my parents have been with them for 12+ years and you can't get road side with just collision but since I have been with them so long along with my parents they added it on for me and I did not even have to ask (Now THATS customer service!!!)

Full coverage would be $160ish a month I think year round.

When I was on my parents plan I was paying like $120 a month.... just something to think about.

I will be 24 in August. Can't wait untill I turn 25 and insurance drops like a rock. I will get a new beater then.

21 year old
1 accident
0 tickets (had a lawyer take care of them all, so I lost no points)

$117/month (full Coverage...$1000 Deductable) through The Hartford

Check insurance.com and carinsurance.com....they always seem to have the CHEAPEST rates!
