I got my Dynomax cut out today in the mail and when I compared it to yours I noticed something different. As you can see in the pictures below there is a lip at the end of the cut out where the cover goes. It prevents the gasket from sealing flush between the cover and 3 point flang(sp?) Will this be a problem when closed? Also there is a thin sloppy weld so im getting a replacement from Jegs tomorrow morning.

Most exhaust shops will do a 2$ weld job on a cutout. Doesnt suprise me.

I would just assume make my own out of a hooker three bolt flange or even just weld my own flange directly to a 3" pipe. You will get the results YOU want. I hated the last set of sloppy work I received on my flowtechs. I no longer have those leaky things. My car runs the same with open headers or through my full length 2 1/2" true duals with flowmaster 40s. I did love the sound of racing my 4 speed car with open headers though. I miss that sometimes.
