like say from a hard push taking off from a redlight and running through only first and 2nd gear....
or a track run, where you just climbed 1-4 gears and just let the engine slow it self down(automatics may have this problem cause we dont have a clutch)
any truth to this? can cut outs damage your pushrods and or hydrolic rolling lifters?

Ask him how guys with an exhaust like mine (longtube headers, 3" duals with straight through bullet mufflers, no cats) that have even greater flow than a cutout on a standard size single exhaust get away with it...

If you're going to keep your stock y pipe and manifolds, I'd say Loudmouth. Nothing sounds nastier (in a good way) in my opinion with stock manifolds/y pipe. If you might be going with headers down the road, I think the Magnaflow would be your best choice. Those new quad tips are sexy too

BTW - What's the difference in h/p between the 2?

Well, after some time went by, I got a cutout for it, then heads/cam. I didnt like the power loss with the cutout closed, as well as how much quieter it was through the muffler. So I wanted a setup that had good power, and sounded good all the time. Solution for me, was true duals with single chambers. I havent been this happy with an exhuast setup in my life. Sound clip in sig if you want to hear it

IMO headers, no cats, and loudmouth =
Anybody considering this setup needs to listen to it in person. Do not spend money for this setup until you have heard it IN PERSON. Some like it, many don't.
I made the mistake of buying longtubes and an off road Y-pipe when I had the loudmouth catback. I was 19, and I loved the loudmouth, and I wanted it loud. As soon as I put the headers on I realized that loud is not necessarily good. I immediately made an appointment with LS1 Speed to have their duals installed. Couldn't be happier!
