Most likely its refering to nitrous stages, usually people run 2 different shots and there refered to as stages, but some cars that can have factory upgrades like SRT4's can be bought in "stages" too it really all depends on what the content it your refering too

Are you talking about cylinder heads? There are different definitions. For example,
a set of stage 1 cylinder heads may be ported & polished while a set of stage 2 heads
may be ported, polished, and have a valvetrain upgrade.

almost all turbo kits are sold in stages. Generally stage 1 is just a non-intercooled turbo kit, stage 2 is intercooled, stage 3 includes bottom end work, stage 4 is a fueling mod for more boost and stage 5 is a bigger turbo etc...

I was on a tranny rebuild website and I just saw stage 1 rebuild, stage 2 rebuild, etc and I was just wondering. Because there are A LOT of different parts that are classified that way. Thought it might be how much they can handle. I guess not.
