Default reverse lockout?

I've got a 98 T/A M6 that I just picked up a few days ago. Does NE one know if it is possible to slip it into reverse accidently while trying to find 5th gear? Or can you only put it in reverse while standing still?

Only when you are stopped. I think there is a 1-2 mph limit but other than that it's "locked" from going into reverse. The reason I say it's "locked" is that you can still put it in reverse but you would have to put like your whole body weight into it

It has a lockout solenoid that activates at around 5mph that prevents you from going into reverse. I wouldnt worry about it unless you bypassed it.

Uhhh.....yeah, my lockout doesn't work. I was letting my buddy drive the car and he realized that the hard way. I cringed at the sound of grinding gears (he never made it into reverse).
