Default Please help, I have a problem

The problem is with my, wife's car. It is a 03 grand am. She called me this morning saying that them car was overrevving by itself and idling very high, almost pushing her into traffic.

I think that either the throttle blades are sticking or maybe it is the TPS? Throw me any ideas that you guys have.

Thanks, Anthony

What you said or possibly the IAC, maybe even a vacuum leak. I'm not familiar with Grand Am's but I'd pull the intake and clean it with intake cleaner, especially where the throttle plate mates to the housing. Pull out the IAC valve and clean that as well. Could also run some fuel system cleaner and check for any damaged or unconnected vacuum lines.
