Question AIR system question

What is the purpose if the AIR hoses pumping fresh air into my exhaust manifold (before headers)? does my car take any readings from this or does it just pump air?

Yes, it will. I know theres a write-up for it but I don't remember where. It's really easy. Just take all of the hoses out of the engine bay and the pump itself is located behind the small access panel in front of the drivers side tire...I think it's held up with 4 small bolts? Take it off and unplug it you should be good to go.

Edit: Don't forget to buy block off plates for the exhaust manifolds.

Default Light

Removing the air pump in a Ls1 F-body should not throw a service light. I believe this is only true on a LT1, For i have never seen it trigger a light on a car i have removed the pump off of.

yes it will but it doesnt affect performance in any way...if the light bugs you just have the air tuned out it doesnt cost much
