Default crackling sound

Alright well i noticed when my car shifts and random other times, i hear this crackling sound. It sounds like its coming from the rear end somewhere. Its really hard to explain, it almost sounds like marbles bouncing around in a glass or something. Anyone else notice something like this? Also, my brakes squeak like a mother but all the pads are good. Is there anyway to get rid of this> its kinda embarassing.

Could it be your exhaust rattling? I would inspect all the hangars and heat shields to make sure they aren't loose or broke. As far as the brakes go how do you know your pads are good? If your pads are ok and your rotors are bad it could squeal. And last but not least it could just be the pads you have are noisy. Some brands are noisier than others.
