C5 Corvette One of my neighbors has a automatic C5 vette. I have an A4 TA with a 160 degree thermostat, lid, longtube headers, catted y pipe, cutout, and a hypertech III programmer. He says that his C5 is still faster than a camaro/trans ams with my mods. What do you think

What yrs are each car? What gears are in them? 01+ LS1 cars have the LS6 manifold, which will be an advantage. Also, the vette could be running either 2.73s or 3.15s out back. You could have 2.73s or 3.23s. All of those factors will sway the outcome.

If the C5 is bone stock and has the 3.15:! gears, it will turn low 13's in the 1/4 mile. What will your car turn? From a stand, it will depend on his tires too. Run-flats don't grip all the great. I believe the weight of the C5 is in the neighborhood of around 3200 pounds.
Go race him, it's for fun anyway. And if you lose, at least it's with another GM, and not a Ford. lol

not sure about a auto c5 vs camaro but my buddy just races a 99 M6 c5 with a cat back on a 02 ss M6 with just a cat back. it was a real closte race the ss puller about half a car when they ran from a slow speed the faster the role ther less the camaro would get. ( i guess this is the aro dynamics factor)
