buying the plug in is much to expensive for what it actually is. I even had a friend plug it in and for some reason it blocked his reverse so he couldnt use it, wasted his money.

Did the resistor mod way back in `98, 115K miles and it still works great
And don't worry about changing it back if you sell the car trust me nobody will care.

I don't think anyone will ever say "I would have bought the car if it had the skip shift."

More likely, they would say, "It was a rough choice between the Mustang and Camaro, but driving around town, the damn Camaro kept locking me out of second!"

A resistor is kinda cobbing it imo, just get the plug in and do it right.

go to radio shack and get a 2.2k ohm 1/2 watt resistor you just put it in the two ends of the plug furthest toward the engine on the tranny on the drivers side just make sure to cover it up with electrical tape or whatever else will seal it and the male part needs to be coverd also even though it a little harder to reach

I've got the plug on the Z06 (because it was free), but I used the resistor on my TA and it works like a charm.

I don't see what anyone's problem is with just using a resistor. What difference does it make, you're never going to see it, and it will work the same. Same thing with a manual fan switch. I did mine with a $5 switch from Radio Shack, but some people are determined to spend like $75 for the kit. I don't know about you, but I don't have money falling out of my *** last I checked. I will admit though that the right way to do any of this is with a programmer.
