How can I distinguish LS1 block Here's the deal I'm going to look at a carbed LS1 this weekend and the guy has no clue what year motor is in the car. I know I can look at the heads and find the casting number, but theres no gauranty that's the same heads.
Any way to look at the block and tell? Any numbers stamped into the block?
