Default Advice Needed.......

2000 Z28 low mileage A4. I put a SLP cold air intake on it. That's about it so far. I am going to put Hooker headers soon and wanted to know if Stainless to ceramic to black matter that much. I also have a LS6 Cam that I wanted to put on with my 241 stock heads(port and polished). I wanted to what kind of match up that is or if its good at all? And I know to replace the springs when I do the H/C install, but what kind of springs and what else if anything should be replaced then.
Thanks for all the help!!!

stainless will last years and years, and stay looking decent...but will get hot under the hood...possibly burn things.

ceramic will (hopefully) last for quite a few years and will keep engine bay temps down.

black paint will rust and burn things...and last a few years and look like **** after a year or less

$1000....$500....$250....your choice.

performance for the most part is the same, assuming similar designs.

ls6 cam on a bolt on stock headed car should yield about 360rwhp give or take. P&P heads could gain you anywhere from 10-30hp on top of that. but i would say the extent will be in the 380rwhp range.

many guys don't like the ls6 cam because it tends to be very peaky. its a bigger cam, but it has a high lobe separation, which means it make power high in the rpm band. the other downside is that to take advantage of the flow potential of the lsx heads...you need to put some 1.8 rockers on the ls6 cam. since its lift is only .525". most aftermarket cams..even the small ones these days...are in the .580"+ range.
something like the 224 cam would be much better. it will still pass emissions and will drive near stock. but it will make about 375rwhp cam only, and 400rwhp with heads.

So i'll probably go with ceramic then thanks. And since I already have the ls6 Cam the 1.8 Rockers should be fine? Is that it or what else would help?
