a couple of notes for Monster tach. Depending on how new it is it may need to be calibrated for the 5v square wave on the LS1 instead of a traditional 12V analog signal that most tachs use. Also the LS1 fires 2 times per powerstroke so you need to set up as a 4 cyl.

In light of this new information, which wire is the 4cyl?...how do I calibrate it for the 5v square wave(I'm not even going to pretend I know what that is)?

you will need to call autometer to get the tach adjusted if it is not already for the LS1 tach signal...

I only had to pay shipping and handling when I sent my tach back to autometer for the calibration. Without calibration the needle bounces all over the place and is basically useless.

dunno...I would have just got a shift light myself but I got the tach with shiftlight free. Unfortunately I got to send it back to autometer to get it calibrated but for shipping and handling fees I can't really complain.
