2000 SS at Dealership - Worth it?
There is a 2000 SS M6 for sale here where I live. The car is red, black leather, ttops, M6, power everything and has only 10k on it. They are asking 19.5k for it. I am sure that could come down some. What would be a good price to get this car for? I am seriously thinking about trading my car in on it. It is not on their website yet and the guy I talked to yesterday said if it is not sold in the next couple of weeks then it is going to some show in Chicago. We somewhat know the owner being that this is a relatively small town and the dealership is not that big. We have bought a car from them before so maybe that will help a bit on the price as well. Any onpinions on the car and price? I drove it today and it was very nice. Drove like brand new, it should for having only 10k on it. There is one little scrape on the front nose and that is it.

Yeah man, that is awesome finding a car with those miles. My car is an '02 and I found it with 3,000 miles on it. I paid $22K for it. I'd say $19.5K for your car is a pretty dang good deal. Offer them maybe 19K cash, but they might not bite on that. If they don't I would pay 19.5 for it, no problem. Good luck man! I hope you get it!
By the way, what wheels are on it?

damn lol you guys pay alot for these cars ehhhh. you know if you get one with more miles you can fix it up..or pay to have it fixed up with the money you could save!!! obviously not everyone has the same goals as I do but seriously....even blue book value is under 15k... but in the end it is your money and if you are happy with it and feel that 19k is a good price, more power to ya.
*edit* if you are going to mod it, it will lose that value. look at your goals for the car. if you want a stock car then sure thats great. but if you are going to buy it then mod it all to hell, there is no point in spending that extra cash to get a mint condition f-body*edit* just my .02
*edit#2*I bought mine, intending it to be a DD and I have sense modded it like crazy...aka turbo with a 408 waiting to be put it. no longer a DD =) just keep the future in mind. If I know this is what i wanted, I would have gotten a rolling camaro and then got a new motor, and built from there. *edit#2*

Painted 10 spoke rims. It's a damn nice car. I have been trying to sell my 99 Z28 that I got a couple of months ago because I thought I was going to be in a tight situation financially. Got my student loan payments dropped significantly yesterday and now I am thinking about getting this car. I am taking my car up there tomorrow to see what they will give me for it. It's a 99 Z with 61k on it. Ideally I would like to trade my car in and pay 11k at most for the SS. Not sure if that is realistic though.
Who all has had experience with the capital one blank check thing? I have one coming but am not sure how easy it will be to use and such. Any advice on that? Thanks.

I understand what you are saying mark. I was looking at an SS for 11K, and then I found mine that was brand new. So I was willing to pay a lot for it just for that reason. Different strokes....

Also, I asked the sales manager at the dealership about the new Camaros coming out. He said that they will have a price tag of 75k! He also said that there will only be 5,000 made. I almost laughed but I held it in.

I would say start with an offer around $18. spend some time negotiating. if it takes you 3 hours to save even 100 bucks, thats almost an 8 hour day of work. they want to sell it as soon as possible.I would say anything under 20 would be a good price for 1 with that low of mileage. I bought my 2000 m6 ss w/black leather + t-tops for 13,500 last year and it had 53,xxx. It was listed for 14,500 and I was going to pay that, and just talked a little bit to the guy on the phone and he brought himself down a grand . Depends if you get a cool salesman or a dick i guess. 1 thing I wish I would have looked at before I bought tho, look at the slp sticker on the passenger door and see what options it came with. Probably wouldnt have made a difference of me buying it or not, but I wish I would have known the only option my car had was chrome wheels.

I did look in the glove box and the previous owner had recorded the date he got gas, how many miles on the tank he got, and how many MPG he got. Also he bought it with 44 miles on it. The guy was pretty ****.
